Welcome to the Serious Gaming Open Learning Lab!
 

The SGOLL is an introductive lab, useful to help you to take your first step in the wonderful world of Serious Games.

In this learning lab we would like to involve you in a series of materials, tutorials and exercises to improve your knowledge and your experience in the Serious Games’ field.

Why do not reflect on useful hints and key-points to learn and gain experience in designing a Serious Game?
If the answer is YES…here are the concrete steps!
1: Go to the section How to Documents
Here you'll find the SGOLL theoretical part, composed by 7 short chapters, with references and sitographies. Read and study some key-guidelines about what Serious Games are, about possible contexts of applications, as well as regards the process of designing a Serious Game, the assessment of serious games and the evaluation via Serious Games, and other interesting issues
2: Then within the section Resources look at our slides
Here you'll find the SGOLL slides with some theoretical deepenings and case-studies with suggestions to develop your Serious Game proposal. Immerse yourself in the concept of flow, experience some hints of how to bring your future gamers in a flow, balancing difficulties and resources, fun and learning
See how important is identifying the training needs,  defining your “serious” learning goals within the game, and how to translate them in a real game!
Experience how interesting could be get closer to your end-users even involving them in the designing process of your game, with real and concrete suggestions from them!
3: Go to the section Resources and click on the word TUTORIAL
Here you'll find the SGOLL tutorial, all set for put to the test your knowledges and your abilities about the Serious Games. Have fun, check and wide your knowledge using the Serious Gaming Open Learning Lab Tutorial and guessing our quizzes
4: Go to the section Collaboration Area
Some mates  are around you… get in touch with international lab-mates from other countries, share your learning experiences via our forum
Each week is foreseen a shared discussion on the Lab's forum about specific issues in the field of serious Games or some difficulties encountered by students via forum in asyncrhonous way.  

And keep in mind...you are a free learner, and you can start your learning experience from the step you prefer!!! No strict rules on that
